Danfoss launches the brand new DST P40I transmitter for use in corrosive industrial environments such as desalination systems, sea water cooling, and chemical processing. The robust and accurate pressure transmitter is available now through all Danfoss channels.
The new DST P40I has been designed specifically to meet requirements in corrosive industrial environments. The transmitter housing is machined out from a titanium rod to eliminate any structural weakness. Besides, the corrosion resistance of the precious metal makes the transmitter ideal for use in the harsh environments found in chemical processing and marine applications.
“We are pleased to offer the market one of the most robust and reliable transmitters for harsh environments. The Titanium pressure transmitter is an important addition to our sensor technology program that aims to provide pressure and temperature sensors for industrial automation applications today and tomorrow, says product manager Richard Jorgensen.
The DST P40I housing is made of Titanium Grade 2, which is exceptionally resistant to a wide range of acids and alkalis as well as sodium chloride and polluted water.
The new DST P40I comes in a number of standard variants and can be delivered in other non-standard build-ups for major orders.
Fast and precise sensing element
The pressure sensing element of DST 401 made from ceramic AI2O3 96% offers superior chemical immunity and is suited for nearly all aggressive media.
The pressure transmitter works following the piezo resistive principle and the Wheatstone bridge is printed directly on the inside of the ceramic diaphragm to ensure fast response time and high degree of precision in measurements.
Ideal for use in desalination plants
The use of membrane desalination has increased, and today seawater reverse osmosis is the leading technology for desalination plants.
The new DST P40I fits into the complete Danfoss product portfolio tailored to high pressure desalination processes comprising high pressure pumps, energy recovery devices, drives and pressure and fluid control devices.
“At Danfoss, we are committed to supporting the desalination industry with highly reliable and energy efficient solutions that can help provide clean water supplies to regions with water scarcity. The new DST P40I is an essential element in fulfilling this strategy”, says Per Sonderriis, Director Water segment.
DST P40I has been designed and tested to be highly resistant to continuous vibrations and cavitation in reverse osmosis desalination pump systems.
